Flash headers are mini-photo slideshows that you may display on your website’s home page. They are great because they capture a user’s attention through visual stimulation. They can also contain text or be linked to more photos or information by adding a URL.
Creating a Flash Header:
DLG Results’ Content Management System makes designing Flash Headers easy to do. To create a flash header log into the CMS Administration Panel by entering your username and password. Then choose the “Flash Header” option from the top-tier navigation menu. You will be directed to a page where you may add new photos and configure the details.
Adding New Pictures:
While logged into the CMS choose the “Flash Header” option from the top-tier navigation menu. At the top of the new page click on the headline that reads “Add New Picture.” This will direct you to a page where you can browse for an image file on your computer, add text to the image (this will appear in the flash), or link the photo to a separate URL. Choose if you would like the link to appear in the same window or a new window. When you have found the photo click “Submit Query”. * Note that all photos must have 515px Width and 236px Height. If your photo is too big it will cause your flash header to distort.
Configuration of Flash Header:
The Configuration will allow you to choose how many seconds you want each picture to appear for in the slide show, what order you would like the pictures to be displayed in, and which effect you would like your slideshow to have. Type in the amount of time you would like each picture to be displayed for, choose whether you want the pictures to appear randomly or in order (you can choose the position number when editing images below the configuration tool bar). Then choose which effect you would like from the list. When you are finished, click “Submit Query.”
Editing, Deleting, and Positioning Pictures:
Below the Configuration tools are all of the images you have submitted. To the right of the images are the options to edit or delete your photo or to submit a position number. Click “edit” to change image information or links. Click “delete” to delete the image and its information. To change the image position, enter a position number into the text bar. If you type 1 next to the image, it will be the first to appear in the slide show, 2 will be after that, and it will continue accordingly.
